About Us

The Foundation Repair Association began over 30 years ago in Dallas, Texas, to establish a non-profit organization among a small group of local foundation repair contractors to help promote and ensure professionalism, honesty, credibility, and integrity in an industry that is extremely important to both the residential and commercial public. Due to the popularity of our association and requests to allow membership nationally, we have expanding to a national organization.

By its very nature, the foundation is the most important aspect of a building or house because it supports the entire balance of the superstructure, including the structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical components. The concept of the Foundation Repair Association (FRA) soon began to spread across the State of Texas and ultimately became the National Foundation Repair Association (NFRA). With the vast differences in soil conditions, weather, and types of construction across the United States, the many companies that comprise the NFRA pool their resources of experience and education to improve the quality of their services.

Because of the importance of integrity, membership in the NFRA is carefully screened among the companies applying. We welcome inquiring companies with outstanding track records, high moral standards, and ethics. However, in like manner, members that do not maintain these standards are addressed with admonishment and/or dismissal from the professional society.

The NFRA allows its members to become Certified Foundation Repair Specialists (CFRS). After successfully passing the exam to become a CFRS, each CFRS has to complete a minimum of 8 educational hours per year to maintain their CFRS status. Knowledge of the trade is further promoted with technical presentations at a local Chapter level and the Annual NFRA Conference.
